Vassalli Metallurgical Factory was born in Firmat in 1949 when its founder, Roque Vassalli, decided to move his repairing workshop located in Cañada del Ucle. He was determined to develop a model factory, which, little by little, became an outstanding company, an icon of technological and productive development, and an unavoidable referent when it comes to point out the key points in the evolution of agricultural machinery in Argentina.

The definition of an innovative profile was one of the first features that signaled the activity of the company. From the very beginning, with the creation of the first integral corn gathering equipment which was able to harvest, take out the husk, separate the kernels and pack the sacks in only one simultaneous operation, Roque Vassalli revolutionized the agricultural world at an international level.

Once the industry was formally structured, he launched more than 20 different models into the market, some of them with striking sales success, such as the “V 900”, the “910 Líder”, and the “Vassalli 1200” models; the latter is still remembered for the technological progress it represented in those days. The successive changes introduced in these models, were always associated with the traditional demands of agricultural producers. Vassalli machines have always been characterized for being useful, of high performance and of easy maintenance.

Models like the “3-16” stood out due to their versatility, since they could be transformed in special units for heavy fields, even for rice harvest; such is the case of the “Vassalli 3-16 JMR”. Almost every year and a half, Vassalli provides producers a new alternative that fulfils the needs for higher performance, less grain loss, better cleaning of the harvested crop, and faster work speed.

As its founder, the company has understood the holistic sense of combine production, always taking care of the details that make customers feel sure and supported. A widely spread net of concessionaires was set to provide the machines’ spare parts in due time, which is essential for harvest to be accomplished under any weather or geographical condition, an added value that users have always considered a decisive advantage.

As an unavoidable referent of agricultural machinery in the Argentine industry at the end of the 80s, Roque Vassalli laid the foundations of Vassalli Fabril S.A., a new factory that started producing “Don Roque” combines. In less than a decade, and with the development of models that gradually increased their threshing capacity, this brand became leader in the national market of combine production.

His heirs and the sound professional team trained under his guidance, followed this line of work, and in October 2000, they introduced the biggest and most sophisticated combine made in the country: the RV 170 model of “Don Roque” line, completely designed and developed in their plant in Firmat

The country's productive and geographical diversity has historically influenced the characteristics of demands on agricultural machinery and has given rise to the development of products that are adaptable to every kind of soil and crop.

During the last decade, the Argentine field has taken a huge technological step. Nowadays we have a strong internationally competitive agricultural sector, which has generated the development of an integrated and efficient chain of agricultural supplies, equipment and service providers. This is directly correlated with what is expected from agricultural machinery manufacturers, especially in the field of combines, where the demands for higher quality and competitiveness have increased significantly.

The country's productive and geographical diversity has historically influenced the characteristics of demands on agricultural machinery and has given rise to the development of products that are adaptable to every kind of soil and crop. Our company has capitalized more than five decades of experience not only to give impetus to the work potential which motivates agricultural producers, but also to expand our participation in the internal market, laying the foundations for the exportation of units to become an active part of our current projects.

The strengths we have so as to carry out this sustainable growth policy are not just temporal, and they do not merely answer to the conditions created from the relative structure of inner prices that was consolidated after the local currency devaluation. Although this last episode reduced past imbalances, in order to take full advantage of favorable prospects, a series of pre-conditions are needed to make the development of new investments possible.

Technological updating, suitable integration of the productive process, experienced “know how” in management and plant engineering, authentic investments to increase the working capital, research and development directed towards the real requirements of the sector, along with a flexible and dynamic commercial structure are essential to operate in the field of combines, in which the launching into the market of each model is preceded by meticulous trials and tests in fields that do not allow impromptu performances.

On these sound basis we set our growth dynamics. That is to say, operative and technological reasons already tested, which constitute -along with farmers’ trust- an asset that encourages us to increase production, reinforcing our commitment to the region and to the country.
